We have a test request in our v2.0 Mozmill Spreadsheet for endurance - test opening and closing twitter feed. http://bit.ly/zpvesV We all know that if we scroll the twitter page, ajax gives as more and more tweets and this is memory consuming after a while so probably we want some metrics on that with endurance. I've had a short chat with Alex about this test possibility and we think it's eligible for endurance - what we don't know is: 1. How do we want to build prerequisites for this one? - If we want to make the test as "real" as possible we'll need a twitter test account with lots of followers and feed. 2. Do we want to create an ajax test page to simulate the twitter feed? 3. We'll need to login eventually with some credentials - is it safe to have that in a Mozmill test? Feel free to dump here your most valuable opinions as it will help me a lot to build this test.

I'm curious of the source of this request. Is there a known memory issue with Twitter feeds? The endurance tests use only local content, and therefore should not access sites like twitter.com. In some cases I have written 'reserved' tests that can be executed using the --reserved command line option. See the documentation here: https://wiki.mozilla.org/QA/Mozmill_Test_Automation/Endurance_Tests/Documentation#Reserved_Tests Also, I do not have access to the linked resource.

Removed it from Url - I don;t get it the sheet was visible for anyone with the link at some point.

I think this was originally scoped as we've seen bugs / feedback with Twitter behaving badly (hanging) in Firefox. Unfortunately, as Dave points out, I'm not sure this is something we can reasonably test with automation without angering Twitter. I'm open to proposals though.

Yes. I don't think we should write this test.
