Steps to reproduce:

Simply opened Thunderbird v.9.0.1 and they no longer were visible.

Actual results:

Tried changing view/folders/all and other options, and the view doesn't change.

Expected results:

View should change. All I can see is the main page with "Email" "Newsgroups" "Feeds" "Accounts" Program does not respond when pressing various links on the main page.

Did you just upgrade to this version? Can you start Thunderbird in safe-mode to check: http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Safe-Mode
Looks like bug 707329, can you try to delete the files mentioned there?
