User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; FreeBSD amd64; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0
Build ID: 20111109192025
Steps to reproduce:
Tried to read a group on a news (usenet) server and experienced a temporary connection problem. The problem could have been either a low level network connectivity problem or an NNTP-level problem such as the server refusing a service because of a too high load.
Actual results:
After the connection problem is gone, it seems that thunderbird forgets which messages are already downloaded and read. The problem is corrected only by restarting thunderbird. Otherwise, when I open any newsgroup on the server I get a dialog window that tells me that there is a large number of new message headers on the server and asks whether I want to download all of them, etc.
Expected results:
Nothing special. I should be able to continue reading the news from the point before the connectivity problem.
