User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1
Build ID: 20111220165912

Steps to reproduce:

Automatic upgrade to Firefox Version 9.0.1

Actual results:

In Mediawiki version 1.13.3 the left hand navigation pane is now displaying below--still in the left column--the main portion of the screen. Prior to this upgrade on both Windows XP and Windows 7 machines, the page displayed properly.

Expected results:

The left navigation pane should have shown in it's correct position to the left of the main screen. That area is now blank.
Maybe duplication of Bug 683151
Yep. This is fixed in MediaWiki 1.16 or newer, but MediaWiki 1.13.3 sends us broken CSS because its browser-sniffing is busted.
Depends on: 683151
And note that MediaWiki 1.13.3 is unsupported (in the "not getting security fixes" sense), so you may want to consider updating to a supported version...
Boris,
Appreciate the security concern, this particular deployment is on a private network with a great deal of custom code and enhancements. The upgrade to 1.16 will likely not be an easy one, although it will have to be eventually done.

My first thought is to try and fix the browser sniffing to identify Firefox correctly and correct the CSS, this may actually be an easier job up front.

Thank You for all your input!

Greg, note that Firefox 10 will likely reintroduce the non-standard property MediaWiki sniffs for, so it may make things Just Work again....
Same seen at www.moria.cz/wiki mediawiki. Mozilla 9.0.1 version
All,
Went to bug 683151, comment # 8 and followed the first link. I then went into my mediawiki1.13.3/skins/common directory and edited the wikibits.js file. Although the lines numbers were not exact, I was able to locate and comment out the 4 lines specified in the link and that solved my problem with the left navigation pane being in the wrong location. Thanks to everyone who responded because your posts led me to the answer!
