User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Ubuntu; X11; Linux x86_64; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1 Build ID: 20111228084940 Steps to reproduce: I have set TB as default mail client. Actual results: after MS updates was installed (junk filter for MS outlook) MS Otlook was again default mail client. Expected results: Instalation program should have option to disabling this actualization in windows. Or or something else to prevent, that MS update change default mail client application.
Isn't this a problem in Outlook that it steals the setting? Anyway, you can set this in Tools->Options->Advanced->General->Always check if Tb is the default mail client . TB will notify you if any other program sets itself as default. I suppose the problem is on Windows, you just filed it under Linux.

It is not problem of microsoft, it is microsoft philosophy. Problem is, that if update change the default program, regular user dont know about this, and continue using outlook. In my situation outlook have old accounts, that not work anymore and then I hearth from users "what **** is that TB".
(In reply to :aceman from comment #1) > Isn't this a problem in Outlook that it steals the setting? agree. this isn't thunderbird's doing. Nor can thunderbird do anything about it. but thanks for pointing out the issue
