Please add how to import translations from existing Mercurial (hg) repo into Narro in Using Narro wiki page (https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Localizing_with_Narro) .

The Narro bug #292 provide detailed answer to this question.

If you mean importing existing translations from Mercurial, go to the project import page, choose Mercurial as source for translations fill in for example http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/l10n/mozilla-aurora/ro and that's it; default options will do.

If you mean just having texts to translate, running an import on those language with the default options will do. This will happen nightly too.

The import is already addressed in the tutorial here (https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Localizing_with_Narro#Import).

I planned to discuss other import options in an advanced tutorial. I'm wondering if this info is applicable to most new contributors coming to this page, as it is meant to be a quick, basic instruction on jumping into Narro. Other than creating a new localization based on an already localized version of a project, what advantage is there in importing an existing translation from Mercurial if you are a new contributor? Is this becoming a common challenge for new contributors?

It seems that using the default settings in "On this server" tab is the simplest path, especially since this is updated nightly straight from Mercurial and formatted in a localizable format for quick localization.

What do you think arky?
The current documentation is sufficient as only administrators have to do this. I work closely with them and guide them.

However we have to provide detailed information when the narro <-> hg problems are resolved.

In that case, I'm putting this on hold, changing it back to NEW and assigning it a P3. Once those problems are fixed and we determine the future of Narro & where it lives, I can update the basic tutorial to reflect the changes.

I think this topic has been covered within the Intermediate tutorial. Closing bug.
