User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:6.0.2) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0.2 Build ID: 20110902133214 Steps to reproduce: accessed firefox and visit website Actual results: I did some looking around on the site and did not come across others with this problem. i have windows 7 and the latest version of firefox. A stability and security update keeps popping up and won't install it just says ''connecting to server'' I let tit run for hours and it never said anything more and now the browser stops responding and shutting down. we are starting to get very annoyed how do we stop/fix these problems Expected results: the update should install . . . .

Reporter, The update could be failing to download for a number of reasons, such as third party security software interfering. Posting an update log to this bug report may help identify the culprit: * open "about:config" * search for "app.update.log" * double-click on the Entry to set the Value to "true" * restart Firefox * open the Error Console (via Firefox Button/Web Developer Submenu or the Tools Menu) * check for Updates If it then fails to find a Update, post the Content beginning with "AUS:SVC" of the Error Console Output As a workaround you can download and install the latest Firefox from http://mozilla.org/firefox See http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Software%20Update%20Failed I see a number of related reports, such as bug 660412 and bug 657165.
