User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.24) Gecko/20111107 Ubuntu/10.10 (maverick) Firefox/3.6.24 Build ID: 20111107174847 Steps to reproduce: Tried reinstalling and the same thing as this https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=548735 using ubuntu 10:10. Actual results: Nothing has changed on the system and dragging window pane doesn't help
We've lost our account details so the problem is symptom of something else.
We've lost our profile but for the life of me I cannot work how to restore it the instructions given online are windows specific.
I'm completely lost I tried http://kb.mozillazine.org/Recovering_a_profile_that_suddenly_disappeared#Corrupt_or_empty_prefs.js and renaming my pref-2.js to prefs.js and restarting thunderbird. I have account details again but no folder pane. Checking email gave me the inbox back again with all emails in it old and new but no sent mail or deleted email folders visible. I closed firefox and restarted it but nothing is visible again although we have account details....

Is View | Folders set to "All"?
Yes but doesn't make any difference. I can see the inbox if there is new mail. I click on get mail then click on any of the new mail messages that appear in the downloading mail temporary status box in the lower RHS. Then I can see all inbox messages. Otherwise nothing else.

NOte: no more 3.x versions of thunderbird are being delivered. You should consider updating.
