Steps to reproduce:

if you addon icon.png to data folder it doesnt show as its icon on the install splash screen or in the addon manager


Actual results:

the icon didnt show


Expected results:

the icon should show

Doesn't icon.png have to be in the root of the extension's directory for the addon manager to pick it up?

Also, if this is actually about the Addon Builder site like the other bugs you filed today, this would be a duplicate of bug 695570. ;)

ah thanks kw. i really hope they bring support for this soon. i would love to provide a 16x16 (or 32x32 whatever standard is) along with a 64x64 icon from the builder. im starting to like the builder a lot (because of the change tracking, it still comes out with massive sized addons :( like if i did the addon non-builder it comes out to be like 3kb but with builder its 50kb minimum :( ).
