Steps to reproduce:

- open account settings windows
- tick the box for 'Leave messages on server' and 'For at most of 21 days'.
- exit account settings window
- got new mails for account
- emptiedtrash can for account
- closed seamonkey
- checked email messages through webmail interface

Actual results:

- messages much older than 21 days were left on the pop3 mail server

Expected results:

- only messages younger than 21 days (or maybe 22 days) should have been left on the server.

also reproducible on windows 7 with seamonkey 261 ( Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20111221 Firefox/9.0.1 SeaMonkey/2.6.1 )

this is probably in shared mailnews code. Can someone check if this also happens in Thunderbird 9.0.1

Hi Philip,
I just checked with thunderbird 9.0.1 on windows 7 64-bit, this one works fine (on the same user account)
anton, which SM version were you using before that worked as expected?

I can't remember anymore; I'll test some older installers this week an report on them...

So it does work in TB but not in Seamonkey?

Works for me with Seamonkey 2.20. Outdated messages are deleted as expected.

Anton, if you still have this issue please generate a new profile with only this mail account and try again.

This might be related to SM or to e-mail service provider or extensions or something else.

No answer from reporter, so CLOSED.

@Reporter: Please feel free to reopen this Bug if you still can reproduce the problem with a current SeaMonkey version and a current OS and if you can contribute a step by step instruction (containing every key press and every mouse click) how to reproduce the problem reliably. It is important that you contribute all information requested by other users. It would be great if you could reproduce that with an email service provider where we can open a test account.
It is necessary that you tell us all relevant e-mail account settings!
