User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Ubuntu; X11; Linux i686; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1
Build ID: 20111228084953

Steps to reproduce:

in Firefox 10.0 beta / Windows 7 with wacom-enabled laptop screen, (reproduced in Firefox 9.0.1 / Windows XP with Intuos 3 A5 tablet)
on a pc with a wacom technology pressure sensitive device (tablet or screen),
install wacom's web plugin http://www.wacom.com/CustomerCare/Plugin.aspx
open a page at this address : http://www.wacomeng.com/web/TestFBCanvasScribble.html
start drawing with the stylus
the pressure sensitivity works
switch to another window by clicking on it on the taskbar
click on firefox's icon in the taskbar to go back to the previously opened window

Actual results:

the pressure sensitivity isn't detected anymore in the page
when pressing F5, the page reloads and pressure sensitivity works again

Expected results:

the pressure sensitivity should have kept being detected
Keywords: inputmethod
OS: Linux → Windows 7
by 'the pressure sensitivity isn't detected', i mean that the pressure value that's retrieved isn't updated anymore and stays equal to its last known value

Have you tried contacting Wacom about this? The fact that you require a plugin from them to get this working makes me think it's worth debugging that before considering this a Firefox-specific issue.
What made me file this bug report is that it works fine in Chrome.
I have contacted them and I'm waiting for their answer.
Let us know what they say. The reason I asked you to contact them first is that we'd need to rule out the plugin being broken in Firefox before assuming Firefox is at blame here. The fact that it works ok in Chrome is expected as I imagine they use a different plugin for Chrome.

Contrary to what I said before, it is possible to reproduce the bug in Chrome. So it is likely to be a wacom bug after all. I'm providing all the information to wacom so that they can fix it. Thank you for your time.
this bug is fixed in wacom's newest driver for Intuos 4. The fix will be included in the next release of Bamboo and Graphire 4 tablets.

According to the last comment, it was fixed by Wacom (although we don't suppot Win7 nor plugins anymore).
