3/12 04 (and prior builds) WinNT After exiting and restarting the app, the very first attempt to print any document will result in an extremely long delay between bonking the print button and seeing the native print dialog. Subsequent prints bring up the dialog almost instantly.
Adding perf keyword, nominating for catfood since the delay is long enough to wonder if it's going to work at all.

My dialog comes up instantly.. It may be loading the document.. or something else.. This works for me.. Is there a particular URL, Operating system. Also.. looking at the code.. there would be no reason for this delay except for loading the printer drivers etc which we can not do anything about.
WinNT Happens only on FIRST attempt to print after starting the app. Not specific to what's being printed. Start app, get anywhere and try to print, dialog takes about 10 seconds. Cancel that dialog and hit print again, it comes up instantly. Go somewhere else and print something different, it comes up instantly. Exit the app and start over, happens the same way again. If it were printer drivers not loaded, it should not be slow when I exit and come back. If it were document load time, it should happen again to a new document. Any suggestions of things to look at that could be specific to my machine or the profile I'm using?
Could this be attributed to the virus scan software? (Any reason to think it would only be slow the first time per session?)
I get a small delay.. like one second.. with the first time, but thats it. The only thing I can think of is a Printer Driver, or even our service manager getting the print options before the dialog comes up. I don't have the 10 second delay to see what is causing your delay. Can you try other applications.. that would rule out the printer driver. I can not reproduce this bug.
I have tried on many machines.. and can not get this to happen. Might be something specific to users machine, so I will mark WFM until something more specific can be found.

So, this still happens to me on the 4/11 build. How do I debug the problem? I don't know anything about how to find or fix it. Are there some docs somewhere that explain the steps?
verified in 4/12 build.
