When I open about:newtab in a narrow window the page shows a horizontal scroll bar. 

Instead of a horizontal scroll bar, about:newtab should only show two (or one) thumbnails in a row unless the width of the window allows for at least 2.5 thumbnails to be displayed.
These things are handled really well in Panorama. I wonder why don't we have them consistent across the interface.
It really needs to go both ways. On larger screens it sits weirdly in the center of the screen with huge amounts of white space, while on very small screens it has scrollbars. Neither of these is particularly ideal.
