When I press Add Account in the Accounts and Sync section of Android's settings on my Samsung Galaxy S running Android 2.2, the list of More Accounts shows two Firefox Sync entries, whereas it should show only one.
(Incidentally, tapping the first one didn't do anything, but tapping the second allowed me to set up my sync account.)

I'm guessing you have both Aurora and Nightly installed. If that's not the case, please reopen.
Having more than one Firefox version installed isn't currently a supported scenario wrt Sync. See Bug 710407.
