User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1 Build ID: 20111220165912 Steps to reproduce: I own an HP Envy 14 laptop with switchable graphic cards (AMD Mobility Radeon HD5650 and Intel HD Graphics 3000). Whenever I switch from the Intel card to the ATI card with Firefox already open prior to switching, UI rendering issues occur. Switching back to Intel graphics fixes the problem entirely. Actual results: If I begin typing in a URL in the URL bar, the floating history/recommended websites overlay that shows up just underneath the URL bar as you type is entirely black. The elements in the overlay are still clickable, so if I click on the black overlay it will take to me the website that is normally visible on the overlay. Sometimes (but not always) the website that was active on Firefox prior to switching graphics will always be shown in Firefox even if I switch tabs to another website. Also, the Firefox menu that shows up from clicking the orange Firefox button on the top left is also pitch black. The elements in the menu are still clickable though. I tried disabling hardware acceleration, and that only partially fixed the Firefox menu (the floating history/recommended sites overlay is still black). What happens is the Firefox menu is no longer black, it shows all the items, but it is "stuck" in the sense that if I move my mouse over any menu element, the UI does not indicate that my mouse is hovering over that exact element. Elements are still selectable though. Expected results: None of the UI elements should turn pitch black. The correct website should display properly when I switch tabs.
This bug might be equivalent to bug 653055. Please try to either disable HW-accelleration or simply restart the browser when switching your graphic card (might be automatic if another GPU-intense software is started on some systems)
