From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; 0.8) Gecko/20010215 BuildID: 20011021508 I have noticed that Internet Explorer won't go to the link location nor download the file that the link points to. (short: it won't react to my link-clicks). And this happens only when I have surfed with Mozilla first. This was an issue with Netscape 4.xx too. This may be (or more likely is) MS' fault. I don't know. But since I have changed my entire pc, os and both IE-version and mozilla version, since last time I experienced this, I find this a bit strange. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Open mozilla. Surf on random sites. Open Internet Explorer (v 5.5 latest upgrade) (It doesn't matter if I close mozilla first or if it's still open while I open IE.) Actual Results: Links don't work in Internet Explorer I must copy link location in IE and paste it in the link bar instead of just clicking on them. Expected Results: Internet Explorer should have worked. :)
Worksforme, under almost the configuration (Mozilla build 2001031604). Can you check if this is an insufficient memory problem ? Sometimes I have a similar experience under Windows 2000, after opening too many windows in IE. It seems there is a limited max. number of open window handles (?) and it can be exhausted sometimes.
I haven't had too many windows' open. Only two or three. I noticed today that links within Outlook Express won't work either.
I presume mozilla is registered to handle http:// ?

No, IE is registered to handle http://
this works for me on win98 as well.
I have reinstalled IE 5.5 sp1 now, and some of the problems seems to have gone. I'll use IE and Mozilla to see if all the bugs have gone.
It looks like it was the IE which needed reinstall. Sorry for bothering you guys.
