Loading about:blank takes 4% of new window time. Most of this time is spent resolving the style for the viewport and building scrollbars. We shouldn't do either of these things.

sr=scc (based on the notion that |SchemeIs| will be getting better, so playing to its strengths is wise)

I can't do this. Editor uses about:blank. DOM authors can start with and augment about:blank. It must have scrollbars. Resolving INVALID.

Bah.
So, for the editor case, I propose about:editor-blank. For the DOM case, can we detect a mutation and resolve the styles and scrollbar-fu then? Actually, the mutation detection would help in both cases, so maybe about:editor-blank isn't required at all. I'll look at this. Reopening to keep hyatt's mind on clever solutions to this problem.

Sorry, they have to be there. The DOM thing sinks you, regardless of what editor does.
