Added a "Firefox Compatibility" guide

Looks great Will - I can even talk about it more clearly now that I've read that first part even though I already understood it ;)

One thing you might consider adding at some point is a link to the docs about how to test against multiple versions of firefox - other than that nitpick I don't see anything I'd want added.

Looks like the patch got mangled a bit: it applied cleanly when I deleted everything outside the doc/ directory.

Looks great! The one extra thing I'd mention is that the FF and JP release cycles are precisely staggered, otherwise it's a bit confusing to speak unambiguously of the "current FF release/beta" version at the moment the JP release comes out. Knowing that JP is released 3 weeks after/before FF makes it more clear.
