Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:10.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0
Build ID: 20120129021758

Steps to reproduce:

Upgraded to FireFox 10.0. Currently on Mac OS 10.7.3 (recently upgraded from 10.7.2 no more than 2 days ago). Went from FireFox 3, 6, 8, 9, and now 10 over the course of the last few years.

Actual results:

Bookmarks Toolbar no longer works properly.

Every time FireFox is opened, it shows the Bookmarks Toolbar, but with no contents. It shows no Folders or Pages at all in the toolbar, just plain empty space. If you click View->Toolbars->[click to uncheck]Bookmarks Toolbar, then do the same process to CHECK to show Bookmarks Toolbar, then it works properly. Firefox NEVER loads the Bookmarks Toolbar properly after this last FF 10.0 update and Mac OS 10.7.3 update. Not sure which one has broken Firefox, as I have updated both in the last 2 days.

Expected results:

Bookmarks Toolbar loads properly.
Bookmarks Toolbar with NO CONTENTS after update.

did you try safe mode? ad add-on may easily cause this issue http://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode

Hi - I think I may have had the same issue which I just noticed happening yesterday.

(Short answer - disable Facebook Disconnect)

The tabs bar would be drawn incorrectly below the address bar (should be above), my tabs wouldn't be loaded from last time. The bookmarks toolbar wasn't loaded. Also, quite unusually, the address bar was not updating when I navigated to different webpages. The toolbar is fixed if you disable and then reenable one part of it (e.g. addons bar, bookmarks toolbar)

The problem went away in safe mode and I've tracked it down to being caused by the add-on Facebook Disconnect. However, I've had that add-on running find for a while without this issue on earlier versions.

Tim
I've tested this and it's working fine for me.
I had Facebook Disconnect add-on installed along with side a populated Bookmarks Toolbar.
I've performed an update from Firefox 9.0.1 to 10.0.1 and every thing behaved as expected after the update, so
WFM on Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:10.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.1
I have the same issue with the Aurora and Nightly builds on OSX 10.7.2. On launch, the toolbar is empty but change any toolbar setting (not just bookmarks) and the contents reappear. I have tried safemode to no avail, so not an add-on issue for me.

Everything works fine with 10 and 11.
I have tried this again on:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:12.0a2) Gecko/20120220 Firefox/12.0a2
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:13.0) Gecko/13.0 Firefox/13.0a1

and it's still working for me as expected. The same thing is applied on MacOX X 10.6.8 with the same builds.

This happens with me with Firefox 12 (3.6 updated itself without a prompt)
on Windows Vista.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0

If I restart with SafeMode the populated toolbar comes back.

If I disable all my addons and restart the bookmarks don't show.
Workaround: delete/rename PROFILE/localstore.rdf and restart.
I am having the same problem with a recently updated Aurora on Mac OS X 10.7.4. I relaunch and find my bookmark toolbar is present but empty; I disable and re-enable the toolbar (using View > Toolbars > Bookmarks Toolbar) and the toolbar renders correctly.
there's risk to mix up bugs here, likely what happened in Firefox 12 may not be applying anymore.
The bug is also mixing up various issues due to add-ons or corrupt localstore.rdf.
