Details

(Whiteboard: [bugday-20131111])

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1
Build ID: 20111220165912

Steps to reproduce:

Tried to use vertical-align in select input element
http://jsfiddle.net/CwSuA/
And
Remove all styling from selected to move text to top left corner
http://jsfiddle.net/jXhRD/

Actual results:

Vertical align works in drop down menu options but not on displayed/selected option.

And

Displayed/selected option text is positioned towards right and downwards pushing it outside the box.

Expected results:

Displayed/selected text option should have been vertically aligned.

And

Displayed/selected option text should have been moved to top left corner.
Seems to look the same in
firefox-9.0.1.en-US.linux64
and
2013-11-11-03-02-05-mozilla-central-firefox-28.0a1.en-US.linux-x86_64

Related to bug 610733?
Component: Untriaged → Layout: Form Controls
Product: Firefox → Core
Whiteboard: [bugday-20131111]
I do not get actual results in Firefox 52.8.0 ESR buildID=20180509233012 and I think the tests
http://jsfiddle.net/CwSuA/
And
http://jsfiddle.net/jXhRD/
may have issues. Since bug 610733 has been fixed, I am resolving this bug report as WORKSFORME.

You may reopen this bug report if there is still a problem and if you can provide a reduced test highlighting the problem along with explanations, details, useful information.
