RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 923656

People

(Reporter: rexdwilson, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1
Build ID: 20111220165912

Steps to reproduce:

upgraded to tbird 10.0 for macintosh, and entered a term into the search box

Actual results:

One of the automatic drop-down choices I received was "search the web for: ... ", and I don't want to see that, as it is clutter, and a feature I'll never use. I don't want to have it clutter my screen, nor do i want to accidently hit it.

Expected results:

I shoudl have been given a preference setting or an about:config switch to turn this off completely.

We discussed hiding the gloda completion for search the web if mail.websearch.open_externally is true. I'm still ok with that. Patches welcome.
