Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:10.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0
Steps to reproduce:
I downoaded and installed the current Firefox version 10 a few days ago.
Actual results:
When I open Firefox 10, adobe acrobat's splash screen appears. I decline. After the decline I see that two new populated directories are present ~/.adobe and ~/.macromedia. These two directories were not present prior to the Firefox 10 startup.
I removed adobe acrobat and the problem does not show (not too unexpected!).
Expected results:
Firefox 10 should have done a clean startup.
Hello
I stand corrected. After disabling Acrobat 9.0 plugin the splash screen still shows!!!!
Having the two directories really is not a problem except for adobe. Given its record of flash cookies I demand that when I am not using acrobat then the two directories are deleted. Unfortunately, they keep coming back!
Keep up the good work.
Thanks

Firefox itself doesn't create those directories.
This may happen if Firefox finds Plugins and the plugins are creating those directories.
You can see the found plugin in about:plugins (enter as URL)
Thank You for the quick reply.
Yes. I understand your message. I did not believe that specifying the creator of the directories was necessary. My apologies. Adobe is creating these directories courtesy of Firefox.
Further to my original report. I modified the ~/.adobe and ~/.macromedia to be forbidden and disallowed anyone but me from modifying them. Adobe changed the permissions and loaded the directories with files, again without me even using the plugin and declining.
I disabled the plugin and the same files and folders were created after I declined. If Adobe wants directories then it should create them at the time the plugin is loaded and not after declining.
I do not believe that this action is proper. It is a bug that should be dealt with quickly. Mozilla polices the plugins and a plugin that loads even after declining and disabling needs some police enforcement.
Thank You
Keep up the good work.

There is no Adobe and Flash plugin listed in about:plugins ?
Thank You for the quick reply
What are you writing about? I apologize again but I have no idea what your response is saying? If I am writing about Adobe then there must be plugins!
My bug is about Adobe telling me in a splash screen sequence that I must agree to use the software. The message states that if I refuse then the app will quit. That is not true. I click decline and the app keeps going. It is essentially lying! Firefox is in charge. Firefox should be responsible for QC.
There again Adobe is a large company and would anyone want to complain about a Firefox bug involving Adobe? Interesting to see where this goes.

I misunderstood you.
Your bug is about that you decline the Acrobat EULA and it still works if you decline.
Is that right ?
In that case this bug report is invalid. This would be a bug that you have to report to Adobe. This would be only a valid bug if Mozilla would bundle Acrobat with a Firefox download but it doesn't do that.

I'll close this to the lack of info from the reporter.
Please reopen it if you can reproduce this on a newer Firefox version and it is a Firefox issue as listed in comment 6.
