Details

With changes from the patch in bug 723251, getBitmap() is now intended to become a reliable synchronous method of capturing a full size bitmap screenshot, and right now, getBitmap() for some reason always returns null. We need to look into this in order to allow PlaceholderLayerClient to function correctly and bring up a saved screenshot (which is to be produced by getBitmap()) for session restoration.
The getBitmap() code should also be updated to support the new GL layers code paths.
in bug 719555, people were talking about getting rid of it...
