Steps to reproduce:
 1) Run Firefox on Ubuntu with the default Ambiance theme or its Radiance color variant.
 2) Enable the bookmark toolbar in Firefox.

Actual results:
The bookmark toolbar looks strangely high compared to the tab bar (tabs on top). There is no separating line between the navigation bar and the bookmark toolbar, so the empty gray space between the location field and the bookmarks ends up being higher than the empty gray space between the location field and the bottom of the tabs. The amount of empty space under the bookmarks is more generous than the space around the favicons and text in the tabs.

Expected results:
Expected the bookmark toolbar to be vertically more compressed to look more balanced with the tab bar.
Can you attach a screenshot please?
Hello Henri, I am running FF10 on Ubuntu 11.10, using Ambiance theme.
From what I can see, the gap between the address bar and bookmark bar is not as wide. Is it possibly due to some other plugins or system settings?

eg. Is that possible the monkey icon is too large and indirectly forces the row containing the address bar to become higher?
I poke around with the UI some more and I noticed something:
1) Right click on the toolbar and choose Customize Toolbar.
2) In the customization window. Select 'Restore Default Set'.

The home button become larger and I definitely notice the gap between the address bar and bookmark bar now!

More investigation ...
* Originally:
  ~58px to the top of the URL bar;
  ~81px to the bottom of the URL bar;
  ~95px to the top of the bookmark bar. (+14px from URL)
* After 'Restore Default Set'
  ~61px to the top of the URL bar; (+3px from top)
  ~84px to the bottom of the URL bar;
  ~101px to the top of the bookmark bar. (+17px from URL)

So it appears the address bar row has increased by 6px altogether, 3px before, and 3px after.
I fix the issue by going to the customization window and selecting 'Use small icon'. (I guess that is the system default setting packaged with Ubuntu?)

But I don't want small icons. Also, small icons don't fix the issue for me. They make it worse, because the bookmarks toolbar looks proportionally bigger (though it stays the same in absolute terms) when the icons are smaller and the location bar is slightly smaller.
Severity: normal → S3
