User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:10.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0
Build ID: 20120130150400

Steps to reproduce:

Searched using Firefox's built in search box, set to Google.

Actual results:

Leads to an outdated URI, requiring a redirect to see the results.

Expected results:

Wound up on the right search page containing the results.
We use the URL that google demands to be used by Mozilla
Component: Untriaged → Search
QA Contact: untriaged → search
It seems Google changed their URI/interface a month or two ago. Perhaps the change was not relayed to the Mozilla team?

How did you reach this conclusion? I don't get a redirect when using the search box with the current URL. It might depend on your locale or any number of other factors.

I have no idea what this parameter signifies, but we've recently discussed our use of search URLs with Google, and this wasn't a parameter that they requested we send, so I'll mark this WONTFIX. Feel free to elaborate on the issues you're seeing, though, and maybe we can get to the bottom of it.

Further research indicates the issue is coming up for me because I have JavaScript disabled. Guess I'll just hack my own google.xml file. Sorry for the noise.
