We'll need new admin hosts a la boris and mradm02 in scl3, and then kill the old admin hosts (after everything's out) https://mana.mozilla.org/wiki/display/websites/Killing+sjc1+hosts

I would be happy with the following names, to continue the theme: * rocky * bullwinkle * or boris (it's a classic)

There will be a few months' overlap - will that cause undue confusion?

(In reply to Dustin J. Mitchell [:dustin] from comment #6) > There will be a few months' overlap - will that cause undue confusion? Oh crap. Good point. Can we rename once boris is gone from sjc1? Just call it admin.scl3.mozilla.com or whatever till then?

These will be named: admin1a.private.scl3.mozilla.com admin1b.private.scl3.mozilla.com with a floating VIP admin1.scl3.mozilla.com with that floating VIP being public. The CNAMEs can be whatever you want. I'm partial to rocky or bullwinkle. Also, comment 0 mentions mradm02? I think its purpose is mostly going away, so the two admin hosts will be an HA pair of jumphosts/vpn servers. mradm02's primary function is webhead admin host, and each cluster will have its own.

(In reply to Justin Dow [:jabba] from comment #9) > mradm02's primary function is webhead admin host, and each cluster will have > its own. My bad - thanks for the correction.

Waiting on https://inventory.mozilla.org/systems/show/120/ to be moved to SCL3

https://inventory.mozilla.org/en-US/systems/show/120/ moved to scl3 and inventory updated. This host needs a 10G interface card in order to have 10G uplinks like admin1a.

:dmoore Do you have an ETA on the 10g card for admin1b?

:dmoore Awesome, thanks. I've completed the configuration of this host. It's configured in master/slave with keepalived for openvpn/dhcp Cobbler is having some issues, which is still being worked on

This isn't blocking scl3 per se....since we have an admin machine up and running in scl3.
No longer blocks: scl3-move

I solved the issue with cobbler, I had a bug in /etc/cobbler/settings pointing to the VIP for the xmlrpc API. This has been fixed and it should be functionally equivalent to admin1a.
