User story: I want a UI that tells me when the app is working in a non-blocking way, so I can empathize when the app is working hard and understand that my input has been received. What happens: Views implement loading spinners inconsistently. Views that do implement spinners contain the logic within themselves. This causes issues if a view is created, adds a loader and is destroyed before it can remove the loader. What I expect: There should be an app-wide (or at least dashboard wide) "loading spinner" view that is shared between all views. Its display state should be determined by a light-weight "busy" queue that other views know how to add to and remove from. If a view fails to clean up after itself, the queue should probably clean up after a time delay.
