User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/534.26+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0 Safari/534.26+ Ubuntu/11.04 (3.0.4-1ubuntu1) Epiphany/3.0.4 Steps to reproduce: I downloaded firefox 3.6.26 off of the mozilla website. I extracted it and moved the folder to /opt (I am on Ubuntu 11.10 by the way). I then tried to run firefox from that folder using the terminal. As a side note, the reason I am trying to use firefox 3.6 is that I read that you cannot enable browsing with a CAC (smart card) with versions later than 4. I am open to other solutions. Actual results: It always says "exec: 390: /opt/firefox/firefox-bin: not found". I can see the firefox-bin file when I "ls" the firefox directory. Expected results: According to everything I have read and all the support from forums I tried before reporting it here, it should have just started.
Firefox 3.6 is only supported for security updates. Your best bet is likely going to be a support forum (Mozilla's or an Ubuntu forum)
You might want to read http://www.marcosorfila.com/site/installing-older-versions-of-firefox-in-ubuntu-1004-64-bits/ Since 3.7.x is near EOL i have to wontfix this report
