On 2012-01-29, Callek forwarded an email to m.d.a.seamonkey. Excerpts:

"With VS2010, we will no longer be able to build a Firefox that runs on Windows 2000, Windows XP RTM, and Windows [XP] Service Pack 1."

"If you are a Windows 2000 user, Firefox 12, released on June 5th, will be the final supported Firefox release."

"If you're a Windows XP user still on RTM or Service Pack 1, I strongly urge you to install the free Windows Service Pack updates"

IOW, support for Win2k, WinXP RTM and WinXP SP1 will be dropped with FF 12, which matches SM 2.9. These versions are currently on Aurora and will transition to Beta on March 13, which is when the corresponding relnotes will have to be created. This bug shall serve as a reminder to do the necessary updates to the System Requirements page of the SM website. Proposed changes:

1. display "Windows 2000" as strike-through, with title attribute value "support dropped with SeaMonkey 2.9"; to be removed completely at a later point in time

2. add "Service Pack 2" after "Windows XP"
OS: Windows 7 → Windows 2000
Hardware: x86_64 → x86
Depends on: 723316
Fixed, see bug 761768 (dropped Win2k completely instead of doing the strike-through).
