Hi Matej,

With the new Native UI and the Beta branding work that has been going on, we'd like to revisit the Android Market product page to make a couple of tweaks.

Current copy:

Experience cutting edge Firefox features still in development and provide your feedback!

With Firefox Beta you can enjoy your favorite features like Sync, Add-ons and the Awesome Screen, while being one of the first to use brand new features and functionality that will be in the upcoming stable release of Firefox for mobile.

From the Welcome page in Firefox Beta, tap on "Give Feedback" to report issues or provide your ideas so that we can make Firefox for Android awesome.

Firefox Beta is compatible with a wide range of devices, however some older devices are currently not supported. Check http://mozilla.com/mobile/platforms/ for a list of supported devices.

--------

-I think the existing copy is more "Aurora" than Beta, we should edit the first line so it's more about "Refine and polish" than getting the latest and greatest.
-Still provide a disclaimer than it's not final release and there should be expectations of a little roughness
-With Native UI, there won't be a "give feedback" button on about:home, we should link to give feedback here instead: https://bitly.com/FXinput
-Keep bit about supported devices, but maybe shorten it

Let us know if you have any questions!

Deadline: March 19

Thanks!
This looks good to me. I'll let you know if I have any other questions as I get into it.

Hi Jaclyn. Just wanted to check if March 19 is a hard deadline here. I'm on PTO next week and in case I don't get to this today, would it be OK if you got it March 20 or 21?

Hey Matej - March 20/21 works!
How's this?

Try out the latest performance, customization and security enhancements.

Hey Matej,

Sync'd up with Grace and we had a couple of comments:

> Try out the latest performance, customization and security enhancements.

"Try out" isn't very exciting, and users don't get right away that this is a still in-development version. We'd like to push "Refining & polishing" a little more.

Instead of calling out specific features that already exist, let's say something like "previewing" upcoming features or highlighting the fact that Beta users are going to get exclusive/exciting stuff first.

I'm worried if we push the idea of previewing features or getting them first too hard that we'll end up back at sounding like Aurora, but have a look at the following and let me know if it's working for you:

Help us refine and polish the latest features not quite ready for prime time.

With Firefox Beta, you get to preview the latest performance, customization and security enhancements before they land in our next stable release. You can even help us put the finishing touches on features and functionality.

like! couple of tweaks for your thoughts:

I think "prime time" on its own like that doesn't convey the same meaning anymore, or at least isn't as clear. How about this?

Hm I really like the "prime time" wording in the previous one.

What if it was tweaked to:

Help us refine and polish the latest features before Firefox gets to prime time.

The problem there is that it's not Firefox that's going to prime time — Firefox *is* prime time — it's the features.

What didn't you like about the original wording? Maybe I can come up with a different solution.
ah ic! ok makes sense.

The first one had punchier short sentences that I liked and got right to the points. For example, the second used "land in our next stable release" and I'm not sure if our beta audience would understand what that meant since they lean more towards mainstream than developery

The first one had that line as well, it was just further into the copy. This goes back to the first line as I had written, but makes a change to the "land in our next stable release" part. Let me know if there's still something about this intro line you're not liking.

I think it's the "not quite ready" wording that I don't like, which was why I suggested "before"

Would like to use "test" instead of "preview" since preview is more Aurora-ish. Not sure which version "make it to our version" is referring to. Should we add a "final" or "next" in there?

Thank you!!!
OK, I'll change it to "almost ready" like we have on the Beta landing page. "Preview" is what you asked for in comment 5, which is why I kept that in there, but I'm OK to change it. Just want to make sure I know what the correct direction is. And yes, that should have been "next version" — a typo on my part.

Whoops sorry about the misdirection, thanks this looks great!

Grace - final review before we close out?

Sync'd with Grace, our suggested tweak:

With Firefox Beta, you get to test the latest performance, customization and security enhancements before they make it to our next version. Make an impact by helping to put the finishing touches on features and functionality.

"Do your part" here without any context makes it sound like a heavy responsibility rather than making them feel valued and important - how's "make an impact" instead?

Thanks
That's a great change. I might say "Have an impact" instead, but otherwise love it.
Ok great! Closing this out for localization. Thanks all!! Final copy:

Hey,

The current copy on the market and updated copy in comment 18 don't include the most important word *browser*. Thus Firefox Beta cannot be found when you search *browser* on the market. That's a critical error :(
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=browser&c=apps

You might want to include the word *browser* in the product name and description, more than once if possible.

Where's your ASO (App Store Optimization) team...?

We don't want Beta to compete with GA, where is where we're focusing all our "browser" keyword efforts on. If people are looking for "browser", they're probably not looking for a more experimental build. Beta is for a more specific audience that would be looking for "Firefox Beta"

Looks great, just one really small change to the last line (removing the comma after German):

Firefox Beta is currently available in English, Russian, German and French, with additional language support coming soon.

Japanese has been added.
Thanks. Updating:

Firefox Beta is currently available in English, Russian, German, French and Japanese, with additional language support coming soon.
Matej: for beta 1, we are shipping en-us only and will follow on with a multi-locale build soon thereafter. Targeting beta 2. Wanted to be super clear on that. thank you.
