729770 - Hitting delete in full screen VKB will move the cursor to the front

Description

1. go to people.mozilla.com/~nhirata/html_tp/formsninput_viewport.html
2. scroll down to a text field
3. place the device in landscape
4. type in the text field
5. hit the delete key

Expected: one character is deleted; caret is at the end of the line
Actual: one character is deleted; caret is at the beginning of the line

Note:
1. typing will still leave the typed character at the end of the line and the caret at the end of the line; looks like it's just a visual effect
2. Occurs on Samsung Galaxy Nexus Maple 2/22/2012; Samsung Galaxy S II Nightly 2/22/2012
3. default VKB
4. not a blocker; visual effect only

Is this an Android issue with the full-screen virtual keyboard? Does this happen on the stock browser?

I wasn't able to reproduce on Aurora, so this might be a regression.

This doesn't occur in the current nightly, mainly because vkb does not go full screen when placed in landscape anymore.

Correction:
This bug does occur on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus on today's nightly 3/9/2012.

This bug does not occur on the Samsung Galaxy S II on today's nightly because the full screen mode does not occur on the landscape.

I don't see any obvious candidates in that range.  We might need to bisect further to find the culprit.

updateSelection causes that caret position moves to head.  This issue is depended on IME.
