Details

running Windows 7, current upgrades, nightly build 13.0a1 locked up after container.exe quarantined by AVG. Build was uninstalled, then re-installed, and adobe flash player re-installed. Firefox ran for 6 hours, then locked up again. On uninstalling and deleting downloaded version. and downloading fresh, Firefo never gets past "connecting" icon in tab bar and reports "not responding" and will not completely close to allow new session to open, without re-boot. Currently running Firefox 8.01 to file this bug report. Have been pleased with nightly builds, with no major crash or probs before this. Realize pre-alpha version, and probs associated with un-supported version, but want to continue using if problem can be isolated, to allow browser to run again.
Do you mean that AVG put plugin-container.exe in quarantine ?
I could only find bug 644660 but this is different.

>Firefox ran for 6 hours
That suggests that the reinstall restored the plugin container and everything should working well.

>and will not completely close to allow new session to open, without re-boot.
Have you tried to kill the process in the windows taskmanager ?
