Hello,

I am reporting a new bug. At the end, I want to attach a file. I cannot. When the bug is reported and I want to attach a file from its Bugzilla page, I encounter the same problem, I cannot attach the file. I click Browse, but it is impossible to attach a file. I notice the popup yellow bar. I click on it. Usually, in cases like this one, with my Firefox 3.0.1, I see the Web address of a non-displayed popup window, as the last menu article, and I can click on it to open this address. Now, I have Firefox 9.0.1, and I don't see that, so there is no way to display the address. At first sight, I had considered that there is a regression in Firefox, because that useful feature has disappeared. But I prefer to see Firefox not showing anymore the popup window's address as a discouragement : “Web sites, don't even try displaying popup windows !” Such a message has all my sympathy.

So with Firefox I cannot attach a file on Bugzilla. Anyway, popup windows are evil, in an ideal world they would never come to life, and Web sites must not rely on them. Web browsers display popup windows less and less.

So please correct the file attaching feature in Bugzilla so that it work without popup window.

I have no idea which popup window you are talking about, nor which problem you try to describe. A screenshot would be, but Bugzilla doesn't use any popup window *at all*.

In this case, the bug would be this one in Firefox :

There is no popup window in Bugzilla, but, when I try to attach a file, Firefox tells me he “blocks” a popup window, and I cannot attach any file.

Nicolas: In a clean profile, without any extensions (like Adblock) or plugins?
Never had that problem, using Firefox too.

sorry nicolas, but bugzilla doesn't have any popup windows or trigger the firefox popup warning, so this bug is invalid.

perhaps you have a firefox plugin or extension which is triggering this.

In this case, yes, Bugzilla does trigger Firefox's popup window warning, and the bug is not in Bugzilla but in Firefox. My Firefox is clean, just he is set to forbid "popup windows". So here is what is happening :

Firefox thinks the file choosing dialog is a popup window, so Firefox blocks it. For once, Firefox blocks too much.
