Malformed how? They look fine to me. What are you seeing and what would you expect to see?

The telugu text should appear with proper ascenders and descenders as given below
(incorrect -> correct)
తలగ -> తెలుగు
నఘటవ -> నిఘంటువు
మదరకషర తనఖ -> ముద్రాక్షర తనిఖీ
సపల చకర -> స్పెల్ చెకర్
