As discussed in Michael Verdi's blog post, some extension and plugin publishers have become very aggressive about pushing users to install their wares. Some bug reports have been marked WONTFIX since it is not a technical problem in FF.
I recommend a simple non-technical solution: POLICY. If any publisher unfairly induces people to install their add-on by means of bundling, side-loading, deceptive overlays, etc, then Mozilla should immediately blacklist that add-on.

We already have a clear blocklisting policy detailed on this page: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Blocklisting
We deal with these situations on a case-by-case basis, so I don't see any actions to be taken here.
Thank you, Jorge.
What would be the appropriate forum for people to propose that the "High Bar" in the blocklisting policy should be lower?

I think the dev.planning newsgroup would be a good place to have that discussion: http://groups.google.com/group/mozilla.dev.planning/topics
