732620 - Safe Mode dialog sometimes appears when opening native app

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_7_3) AppleWebKit/535.22 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/19.0.1049.3 Safari/535.22

Steps to reproduce:

I installed my app (with native app). I opened and closed Firefox and the installed native app.


Actual results:

Every once in a while, instead of opening Firefox or the native app, the "Firefox Safe Mode" dialog would appear, despite not having been requested at all. Additionally, clicking "Continue in Safe Mode" would close the native app, instead of opening it (in Safe Mode or otherwise).


Expected results:

The app I clicked on should have opened.

Were you by any chance holding down the option key when starting Firefox? That will trigger safe mode.

It's possible. That doesn't explain why clicking "Continue in Safe Mode" closed Firefox, though.

I am not seeing this happen on Mac OS X 10.5/10.6/10.7 with the new desktop runtime. Guangcong - Could you try installing your application and running it with this nightly try build and let me know what results you get?

If we don't get a reproduction of this issue on your end, this might have to be resolved as a worksforme.

Hmm, this bug was intermittent, and I couldn't get it to happen again. In lieu of any concrete reproduction methods, I'd say it would make sense to close as 'worksforme', and hope that it was fixed as a side-effect of a different bug, or that the next person who encounters it can identify the correct steps to reproduce.
