John/Ty,

Now that the One Mozilla blog theme is locked and loaded, we'd like to move forward on the landing page experience for blog.mozilla.com.

There are preliminary/approved wireframes in Bug 687382 - and, it would be great to have Ty or another designer assigned, and we'll join forces with Craig on what can be editable v. what will be static for this user-facing magazine entry point.

Design by March 29, implementation April 15.

Thanks for the call this AM, here are some notes and next steps:

Need a landing page / dashboard into our world of Mozilla related news.  This will be a curated window into our news ecosystem - aggregating select blogs (not all). Inspiration: Huffington post.  

>>Target Audience:  
Press, Internal/Mozillians and Community at large.

>>Other considerations:
The page will be mostly typographic elements vs. illustrations/graphics.
Will need a blog feed with basic info: header, tags, teaser copy, etc.
Want to have featured articles, pushed manually.
Topic categories to help with browsing/navigation.
Inspiration: https://mozillalabs.com/en-US/projects/
Can link to press center and a Blog Directory 
Link to press contact / email addresses.

The attached wireframes are a good start, but we'll need to iterate and finalize specs before jumping into design.  Webdev will lead by refining specs into something they can implement within the desired timeframe.  We'll adapt the designs accordingly.

mozilla.org/news -- TBD.

we'll need to make sure it's not confusing but clear how the two relate, since blog.mozilla is currently the official mozilla news channel, and where most of the traffic is directed to for this kind of content. My understanding is that we'll pull from blog.mozilla but are not replacing it.  So, we'll just need to make sure we think through how this new News portal will be promoted and when/where we point to it.
