This bug is for a few graphics needed for blog posts in March/early April from Lee.

1. Blog post on Finances & Add Ons - We need this by March 16 to use in the email as well (bug 733378). 

Copy to inspire graphic creativity: It’s almost tax time again, that time of year when your mind is on your money and your money is on your mind. That’s why we put together an <a href=”https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/collections/chuckchuckchuck/financial/”>add-on collection</a> to help you with your financial goals.

2. Firefox Beta
Can use whatever we come up with in bug 733378 - just cropped to size for the blog.

3. Earth Day/Hour - can we have a green logo? Maybe the Firefox is green and the earth is still blue? We'll be writing a few items on green searching, how Firefox is an "organic" project, etc. Earth hour is in March, Earth Day is in April.

For #1, wouldn't we just use the graphic from the add-on? or screenshots or something?  I'm not entirely sure what you had in mind for #1, or what was discussed with Lee.

For #2, Ty has the graphics for the beta stickers which perhaps we can use here, but it's essentially the logo + the word "beta".  nothing fancy. 

For #3, we wont' be able to change the logo to green :)  violates our brand/style guides.  but perhaps we can use the globe graphic, or perhaps Lee can come up with something.

Another option is to grab [good] stock graphics, iconogrpahy, that we can apply some filters to to make them our own.

Will Lee figure out what's best.

Carmen, what is your deadline for the rest of these graphics?  are they all due 3/16?

Hey Tara :) So yeah, this is a compilation of several add-ons, so I was hoping to use something that would tie together the financial theme, rather than highlight just one graphic. So when folks share the link from the email - the share graphic is something "financial" and not a specific add on graphic.

Hey Carmen, for the Finance pack of add-ons... are there a top 3-5 that maybe you can pick out?  i was thinking we can wrap those in some type of a graphic and highlight those vs. creating a graphic from scratch.  I also want to avoid stereotypical graphics for "finance" like dollar signs and so forth... and thought it would help if we can showcase the actual add-on icons if we can, but there are too many in that pack so if you can maybe pick the most popular ones...we can work with that.  what do you think?

Hey Tara,

Well, here's the kicker with that - if we use the finance graphic in the email. Each locale has a different list of add-ons. I don't know that we want to get in the business of creating different email images for different locales.

For just the blog, the EN-US list is:

Fair enough.  So maybe we can find some solid icons and tweak them.  Stay tuned.

Okay,  How about we pull some stock icons surrounding graphcs (line / bar) or pie charts or similar finance related icons and tweak them to fit into the new One Mozilla theme?  I have some samples attached.  I think we can use the Firefox orange as a solid color since these tie to FF...but otherwise, a simple icon could work.  

Thoughts?  attaching some examples.

The road we're on works for me. I just see those icons as very stock-market-y, and the add-ons are more, calculator-y and currency-y ;) Not sure if they were examples or the ones you had in mind. But I think we're on the right track.

Hi there.  So, Lee is actually not doing any graphics on this bug.  We have:

* Finance graphic: which can be a nice stock image of a graph (some examples attached) but filtered and treated to look more like our iconography (monochromatic glyph icons).  Perhaps in Firefox orange/solid color. 

* Beta image - Ty will attach this and we can resize as needed.  This can be the Beta logo if Ty doesn't have anything.  Ty, please advise. 

* Earth graphic - not due quite yet, but I'd take a similar approach to the Finance graphics and grab a nice icon to adapt to our style.  As long as these aren't Hero graphics, icons will work just fine.

With that in mind, Rhonda, perhaps you can start on the icons with some suggestions, and please also don't forget about bug #733378  :) which is related to this.

Carmen, please confirm the specs for each of these graphics (if they are different than what is being asked on the related email bug).  Then Rhonda can jump in and resize / polish as needed. 

wrt FF beta, if the sticker design doesn't work in the space we have.. I think the beta logo will be just fine.

Checking on this bug. Are we still on track for April 9? I ask, because not only will I be using this image on the blog, but we'd like to incorporate it into the email design for April as well. I'm going to open that design bug today, and reference this one.
