Details

I use Gnome with sawfish 0.36. There I set the following parameters (sorry, some
LISP now):

(custom-set-typed-variable (quote focus-mode) (quote enter-only) (quote symbol))
(custom-set-typed-variable (quote raise-windows-on-focus) (quote t) (quote
boolean) (quote sawfish.wm.ext.auto-raise))
(custom-set-typed-variable (quote raise-window-timeout) (quote 1000) (quote number))

which means: Focus window only when entered and raise it after 1s automagically.

With actual daily build the main browser window raises when focused with the
mouse immediately! There is now chance to enter a preferences field or other
control fields or any other window in the same viewport because when moving the
mouse over the main window it is raised!

The only trick: select a window with the GNOME panel tasklist and remain
pressing the mouse button, then reach window.

When switching between viewports the browser windows begin to flicker because
all windows try to raise to top posision.
Which Mozilla build are you using?
