Redirect all pages on MSR website http://studentreps.mozilla.org to MSR wiki homepage: https://wiki.mozilla.org/ReMo/Student_Reps

Please note: The URL for the registration page will need to stay as is (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/newsletter/studentreps) until we create a new sign-up form on the Mozilla Reps portal.

Please advise on the timeline for this bug. This bug blocks bug 733678. We're aiming to archive the website ASAP because it features outdated content that's confuses/discourages contributors.

Thanks,

Jason

Can you elaborate on the concern about the registration page? The link you provided above, which is the same as the Sign up link on https://wiki.mozilla.org/ReMo/Student_Reps , does not go through http://studentreps.mozilla.org at all, so it wouldn't be affected by the redirect.

I'll have the main redirect live later today.

Thanks!

Thanks for the update. If the sign-up form won't be affected by this bug, there's no concern :-)
Hey Brandon - Can you provide an update on the main redirect?
This went live last night and I'm seeing the redirect on all four of the servers currently hosting the site.

Feel free to update the bug if you see any issues

Thanks!

Hey Brandon:

I didn't see the redirect because the 'en' version of the site (http://studentreps.mozilla.org/en) is saved on my Awesome Bar. The same thing happened when I went to test the redirect on a colleague's computer. Anyone who recently visited the site may encounter a similar experience.

Would a solution be to also redirect all of the homepages (below) to the wiki (https://wiki.mozilla.org/ReMo/Student_Reps)?

http://studentreps.mozilla.org/en
http://studentreps.mozilla.org/es
http://studentreps.mozilla.org/de
http://studentreps.mozilla.org/fr
http://studentreps.mozilla.org/hu
http://studentreps.mozilla.org/pl
http://studentreps.mozilla.org/sq

Whoop, looks like I didn't get the version that's catchall pushes.

I pushed it and it's now working as expected for anything after /, e.g. /en/

This completely broke the page at mozilla.org/newsletter/studentreps. It seems that that page pulls in CSS from studentreps.mozilla.org (which is awful).

I file bug 735955 for this.
Hey James:

The only one page we've been using for program registration is this one: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/newsletter/studentreps.

Even localized homepages directed to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/newsletter/studentreps.

FWIW, that other page (mozilla.org/newsletter/studentreps) has been broken for a while. The only way people end up at that page is if they purposefully remove 'en-US' in the URL.
We can continue this discussion in bug 735955

Hey Brandon,

The re-direct has caused our registration page (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/newsletter/studentreps), which we originally thought was hosted on another site, to malfunction. Can you take a look at bug 735955 and advise on a solution?

Thanks,

Jason

Hey Brandon: Just added you to bug 733678. Is there a way for me to access the content from the redirected pages? For now, I only need to access the en-US pages.
Added some exclusions to fix the registration page. Current redirect sends all links for content to the MSR wiki page.
