On this build (linux, 03-25-05), every time I try to open password manager (from tasks -> privacy and security -> password manager -> view stored passwords), mozilla crashes. No diagnostics are evident - the windows just go away.

Did this just start happening? If so, jag, could this be due to your checkin for bug 73341?

I checked in at 03/25/2001 15:07, so I doubt it.

I'm still unable to reproduce, even with the steps given above. But there is something very interesting in what you just said. Namely deleting all existing passwords. Due to a regression that occured yesterday (see bug 73341), it is no longer possible to delete any saved passwords or any sites from the list of sites for which passwords will never be saved. So how are you deleting your passwords? Have you checked before closing down the browser to see that the passwords indeed got deleted?

Interesting. Take a look at bug 73347 which I just marked as a dup of this bug. It proves that others are seeing the problem as well. Some points to note from that other bug report: 1. Problem is cross platform (the other bug report was against NT) 2. The other bug contains a stack trace. So now why can't I reproduce this problem?

I can reproduce it consistently on my NT machine - if you want to come up and have a look at it you can do so.

Ok - I initially got a crash at sourceforge. I have two different saved passwords for SF. When I went there, I got a popup window asking which account I wanted to use (this is new, I don't recall seeing it before). When I chose one, the browser crashed. It did this each time. So I then went to the password manager to try and remove one of the accounts, but it also crashes.

No, that's not new. From the very beginning, password manager had the feature whereby if you have saved more than one login for the same site, you get a pop-up box asking which one you want to use.

Good news -- I just reproduced the crash and was able to debug it. Also I now understand why it was so evasive for me and not for others. Details in bug 63373. In fact, this is a dup of that bug and I will so mark it. Also I have just posted a patch in that bug report. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 63373 ***
