Right now when you sign in with BrowserID on Pancake, the keyboard closes after filling in the email address. The keyboard should stay open until the BrowserID signin is complete, I think.
This might be a BrowserID bug?
I don't think so. We are not seeing this in the UI flows for BID. But, I need much more information...

Can you add in some very complete details to duplicate the scenario?
I am not at all familiar with the notion of a keyboard "closing".
Can I assume this is phone or tablet/pad?
James, you can grab the Pancake app from https://moo.mx/apps to see it in action. The keyboard is hidden on iOS as a result of onBlur() I think. Maybe that is a hint in the right direction?
Stefan and Naoki - Here come the 20 questions...
(sorry, but I have never used Pancake and I only have personal Mac devices available to me, so I need to be very careful)

Which of the choices and on what device (iPhone or iPad)?
That is, Dev, Stage, Prod, or Enterprise?

Is this specific to iPhone (versions?) or iPad (versions?) or both?

Does anybody have a screencast that I can add to a GitHub issue for BrowserID?

Also is this the one and only way into Pancake?

When did the sign in to Pancake last work?
And, were you pointing to BID Dev, Stage, or Prod environment at that time?

What BID environment do you point to now?

Dev

Pancake only works on the iPad right now

Yes.

It works fine. This bug is not about things not working :-)

Prod.

> What BID environment do you point to now?

Prod.
OK, Thanks.
Chatted with Naoki, will work with him to get more QA info.
I am going to file a BID GitHub issue after that and cross-ref to here.
I am wondering if some of the recent iOS-related changes to BID are causing this issue...
In a Previous version of Browser ID, I recall the password field was visible with the username field.

in this version of BrowserID, I see there's only one field for the email address and then the password field will appear if it's a new account. When the password field appears, the VKB will disappear even though there's a blinking cursor in the password field. The user has to click in the password field in order to have the VKB appear again, even though they should be able to type still.
Naoki : iPad 2 iOS 5.1
Deb : iPad 2 5.0.1
Here are my comments from GitHub issue #1295:

Here is the sequence on iOS with Safari:
1. Bring up myfavoritebeer.org
2. Click Sign In
3. Enter an Email (VKB is available for this step and stays visible until you click Done or Go)
4. Click the Next button in the sign_in dialog
5. Now you should see the populated Email field and a blank Password field.
Focus is in the Password field but VKB is not showing
6. Select the Password field
VKB now shows

So, I think this UI flow is as expected for BrowserID on iOS.

Naoki and Stefan, please correct me if I am wrong:
For Pancake/iPad, the issue is the second page where the Email field is populated, the Password field is empty but in focus...
Should the VKB just automatically show on this page?
Or should we have to tap into the password field to bring it up, similar to the "normal" UI flow for BID as listed above?
I believe that you are correct, sir, in the first part of your statement.

In my opinion, I would expect the VKB to be up and running so I can type my password. For me, the user workflow that would make the most sense without having to click into the password field. I could be mistaken. Stefan, what do you think?
