User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:13.0) Gecko/20120307 Firefox/13.0a1 Build ID: 20120307031051 Steps to reproduce: Created a quick search en with search string http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%s Entered a string to search for and was proffered a version with pluses added. Clicked on proffered result and received non-existent page. Actual results: Firefox inserted pluses into my search resulting in a useless URL encouraging user to conduct a pointless exercise. Expected results: Firefox should not offer an option to get a obviously incorrect result. I do not know of a website where this offers a benefit over submitting the original text compete with spaces to the website. Wikipedia correctly translates spaces into underscores all on it's own. It does not do the same for pluses.
You created a bookmark with a keyword ? Please provide an example search string ? This seems to work in FF10 on my system. I entered "wik ariane 5" (wik is my keyword) and I got the correct result.
Take a look at my version and build id.
wfm with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:13.0) Gecko/20120308 Firefox/13.0a1 SeaMonkey/2.10a1 and "ariane 5"
WFM with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:13.0) Gecko/20120309 Firefox/13.0a1 ID:20120309062528 I do see that spaces are converted to +, but get to the correct page
Are you typing the keyword for Wikipedia (in my case en, in others wik)and your search and hitting enter, or are you typing the Wikipedia keyword, your search then selecting the first result in the drop down box? It's the second one that's the problem.
useful steps to reproduce a) create a keyword bookmark with the keyword "wk" and the URL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%s b) type "wk ariane 5" in the Firefox location bar and press enter c) the loaded URL is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ariane_5 d) type wk ariane in the URL bar e) you get a history entry offered with the URL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ariane+5 confirming with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:13.0) Gecko/20120308 Firefox/13.0a1 SeaMonkey/2.10a1
