Samsung Galaxy S2 Android 2.3.5 1.5 GHz dual-core procesor 1 GB RAM 4.5" 800*400 pixel screen Soup build from March 7th, 2012 from people.mozilla.com/~dclarke/openwebapps/Soup When the user rotates the device to landscape mode and clicks Sign in and then they go back, the main page with the slideshow will render differently (content not fit the same) than it does when you first launch the app. The slideshow page becomes scrollable when before it wasn't. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Soup on an Android device 2. Launch the Apps Marketplace from Applications 3. Install Sky Guide and launch it 4. Rotate the device to landscape -- Notice at this point you can't scroll the page 5. Click Sign in on the top right 6. Click "Go back" Actual Results: Notice you are now able to scroll the page (with the slideshow) and flickering/lines can be seen while you are scrolling. Expected Results: The page should not be scrollable and the flickering/lines should not appear.

Also if you turn the device to portrait mode at this point, the slideshow renders with part of it as a grey box until the slideshow changes.

Confirmed this problem on a galaxy s2 on the stock browser. Looks like this is an evangelism problem. Migrating this bug to that bucket.

Note - I've really only seen that I cannot see the full-screen in landscape mode. Have not seen the other issue. Tested on a galaxy s2 with stock browser.

The core issue though appears to be Soup-specific. I'll move this bug back to Soup. I'll reopen a separate bug for the scrolling issue.

Harald, what is the issue here?

I can see that behaviour in stock browser and soup on my Nexus One; I also can't imagine what Soup is doing that could impact any of the rendering or page layout.

Hmm. Maybe this a general device-specific rendering issue not specifically tied to Soup? Should go back in the evangelism bucket? Note: This app had a lot of problems in the mobile environment in regards to rendering during mobile web compatibility testing.

I agree, they use some mobile specific code and layout, which might simply not be tested for Android 2.3. Even though Soup uses WebView, layout, touch interactions and scrolling does not behave any different in comparison with the stock browser. I'd vote evangelism bug, to verify that its supposed to work on Android 2.3.

Agreed. Aaron - Thoughts? Do you agree or disagree with making this bug an evangelism bug?

Only if the same issues are exhibited in Gecko
