The DM switch appears to be doing HDCP negotiation with the Mac Mini on input 5 but not correctly handling the negotiation with the BlackMagic Intensity Extreme on output 8.
Blocks: 724024
Severity: normal → critical
The DM should not advertise HDCP on inputs connected to non-HDCP capable ouput devices.

This issue has come up at other DM installations and we have a solution. We are connecting a SIIG CE-HM0021-S1 HDMI to DVI+audio converter between the DM switcher output and the input of the non-HDCP device. The SIIG converter just happens to strip HDCP.
OK, so we'd need one of these converters, plus connecting the S/PDIF out from the converter to the blackmagic input. (a bit clunky)

Do you have these in stock? (and we'll need a DVI - HDMI cable and an RCA cable) Could we set up a service call for tomorrow?

I'm confused as to how putting this on the output side works, though.
I'm confused too. We come in to the HDMI connector on the BlackMagic Intensity via the DVI-HDMI cable for the video and then use the breakout cable on the BlackMagic to get audio in? Does that work?
Looks like the audio cable is a mini-phone-plug to RCA.
We have the SIIG converter/cables in stock and a technician available for tomorrow. Our service department needs to send over a quotation for the parts & labor to install the SIIG converter. Who should receive the quotation for approval and what time would you like to schedule the service call?
Yes. On-site contact is Tabitha Romero. P/O number is 735934. 10:30 AM is the preferred time.
Approved; email the quote to me. (zandr at mozilla dot com)

Is this also the solution to the problem in bug #716320?

...and where do we stand on the video capture device for the second input on the HD220's. (bug #727672) Can we get all of these done at once?
This is also a solution for bug #716320. I would also add a scaler between the SIIG coverter and the Vidyo HD220 to match the native resolution on the content input on the codec.
Depends on: 737739
I can't tell if the problem is due to resolution settings or switch control layer issues, however not all of the inputs on the Streamer control page of the iPad controller for 10Fwd produce visible input to the streamer:

Podium VGA No (see bug #737739)
Wall Plate HDMI Yes
Wall Plate VGA No
Wall Plate Component --Not Tested
Wall Plate Composite --Not Tested
Podium HDMI Yes
Camera 1 No
Camera 2 No
Comcast No
Mac Mini Yes
Windower No
Vidyo No
Sounds like we need to come back to SF to test all the sources being routed to the streamer. Let us know when we can schedule the room for about half a day to trouble shoot.
I spoke with Extron about the windower and was informed the inputs are not HDCP compliant. There are two outputs from the Crestron DM switcher that would need SIIG converters to pass HDCP content to windower. I’m not sure why the others sources mentioned above are not able to pass through the streamer. I would like to schedule a site visit with one of our field engineers for half a day to test the system. Who should we contact to schedule the commons room in SFO?
Bill,

Should we be spec'ing a different windower for future builds?
Richard,

We should be specifying a windower that is HDCP compliant. I spoke with Ace from Extron and he recommends using an Extron DVS 605. The DVS 605 is a five input HDCP compliant Scaler with Seamless switching. It also has a picture-in-picture feature to allow unrestricted two-window display of standard and high resolution sources. PIP presets including side by side windows. The main and PIP windows can be dynamically sized, positioned and magnified. I can request a DVS 605 from Extron for evaluation, but it’s not available for another 2 weeks. Below is a link for the Extron DVS 605.

Windower inputs now work, but routing the Mac Mini Directly does not. Clearly an HDCP issue.
HDCP authentication can be controlled on the DM inputs.
