Details
Seeing as how the list is publicly indexed on Google Groups, it makes no sense for the list archives to be private at https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/services-dev

This list is NOT indexed on Google Groups (we're not sending it there at least). It's on the wrong mail server for that (lists.mozilla.org lists go to Google Groups, mail.mozilla.org lists do not).

That's a standard Google Group, not an NNTP-gatewayed group.
It appears that the group submission address is a member of the list.

Just to point out, there's nothing inherently wrong with this setup as long as it's working for you. You won't get in trouble for having it set up this way. It just seemed funny to me at first glance because it's not how we're normally set up.

It's not working, actually. The Google Group disallows web replies because of the nature of the setup. Filed bug 736396.
