User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0 Build ID: 20120312181643 Steps to reproduce: I was trying out the new inspector tool in Firefox and noticed that it displays differently depending on what OS I'm on. Actual results: When I view the inspector on Windows XP is displays in a very visually aesthetic way. When I view the inspector on Windows Vista it displays with large ugly buttons. Other than the operating system the only difference is that I am using a theme on Vista to make the UI look like the UI does on Windows XP. My Windows XP machine uses the Default 11 theme. Expected results: The inspector should look similar on Windows XP and Windows Vista.
Does the difference still exist on the Vista machine if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic%20Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile

Vista displays properly with the default theme, but not with the "Firefox 3 theme for Firefox 4+". I would expect Inspector to look the same no matter what the theme is. Please let me know if this is an incorrect assumption.
If a theme overwrites a style that inspector is using, what would you expect FF to do? I suppose they (the developers) could use a whole new set of css rules, but themes would still be able to override...and if themes couldn't skin Inspector I am sure people would complain...
Summary: Inspector displays differently on Windows XP vs Vista → Inspector displays differently with Firefox 3 theme for Firefox 4+ installed
Thank you for the clarification. It sounds like this is expected behavior then. I'll mark this bug as resolved and invalid.
