Integrate Mozilla UK emails with Zimbra

As discussed with Mburns and Justdave Mozilla UK would like to integrate its email with the Mozilla email infra.
Only the 3 administrators will require access and all but 1 have a valid LDAP account.
According to JustDave it "should just be a matter of turning on that domain in Zimbra and pointing the MX records at it then". IT already have control of the mozilla.org.uk domain.
The 3 accounts needed will be:
leo@ (No LDAP at present, do we need a new bug for that?)
paul@ (LDAP = paulbooker at appcoast com)
tom@ (LDAP = tmzmoz at gmail com)
Guys, please review the above.
Thanks.

OK, I was under the impression (and I think mburns may have been, too) that this was something related to the Mozilla Foundation for operations out of the new London office... Looking at the existing LDAP accounts, this looks like it's all community people and not Foundation?
We might still be able to host it, but I'll have to check around to find out what policies are for that to make sure.
If we host you guys in Zimbra then we would need to rename/create LDAP accounts using the mozilla.org.uk addresses for use by Zimbra.

Yes, that would be correct.

Awesome, thanks for that! I can't see any reason that unpaid volunteers should be discriminated against; we're all part of the community, after all ;)
If there aren't any policies currently in place, we should make some. If it's a problem with only giving 'trusted' individuals such things, it might be an idea to somehow integrate this with ReMo -- like how community hosting is now handled.

OK, so after asking around, the verdict from mrz is that we need to keep the current Zimbra installation restricted to corporation and foundation employees and contractors because of the per-user licensing involved in the Network Edition that we're running.
The possibility of setting up a separate instance using the Open Source Edition to use for hosting community folks was suggested, but I imagine that'll take a bit of logistics to set up on our end.
That said, if you like Zimbra, it's not terribly difficult to set up, as long as you have a server available to dedicate to it (it doesn't share well with hosting other things on the same server). I run a copy of Zimbra OSE on a box at home for my personal calendaring and family email. Since you guys do already have hosting that'd be a possibility for you as well.
Either way, for short term, we're looking at pointing the MX records back at you guys.

Thanks for looking into this David and for the feedback given.
I'll discuss with the MCS community & with the REMO council about the possibility of setting up an instance of Zimbra on a new server to help everyone with their email requirements.
Best, Paul
