User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0 Build ID: 20120312181643 Steps to reproduce: Installed FF 11 + sharks codec 3.5.8 Ran sharks codecs and set file types to WMP Actual results: Firefox lost filetype associations and were set to WMP. The default programs icon was a WMP one and could not be restored normally. Expected results: Firefox should retain the file permissions. IF any version lower then firefox 4.0 BETA 1 is used then the problem does not exist. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2446103 Since this is a possibility of the software writing the wrong keys then i would at least ask how/why this is occuring when changing firefox is the only scenario that affects the outcome and the software does not write the registry keys on any version that was previously specified.

Firefox lost which filetype associations ? what is the problem with the file permissions and with an Icon ? Your report makes no sense to me.

No, I can see that in the screenshots (too small) but why should this be a Firefox bug ? Firefox isn't open and it's not firefox bug if third party software changes file type associations/icons in windows.
