This may well be because: // XXX: These need to be based on window activity... stopButton.setAttribute("disabled", false); stopMenu.setAttribute("disabled", false); stopContext.setAttribute("disabled", false); in navigator.js. Apparently the Stop broadcaster is broken (another comment somewhere) but I have no idea when it's going to be fixed. Gerv

where does the stop broadcaster even exist? A search for "canStop" in lxr doesn't return any results with <broadcaster id="canStop"/> anywhere.

Does this bug also cover the Mail/News Stop button? If so, bug 85647 should be marked as a dupe of this bug. (Changing to All/All per comment #7.)
